| CWS of Omaha, Inc. Announces National Anthem Performers for 2005 |

(OMAHA,
Neb. – April 12, 2005) – Seventeen finalists have been selected to
perform the National Anthem during this year’s Men’s College World
Series which starts on June 17. The selection concludes a three-month
process that started with 170 applicants vying to perform during the
Series. The
Men’s College World Series of Omaha, Inc., began holding formal
auditions in 1995 because of a growing interest in performing the
National Anthem. Musicians and singers from
throughout the Midwest compete each year to perform before an average
of more than 20,000 people who typically attend each College World
Series game. Following is this year’s roster of performers and their scheduled appearances: June 17, 1 p.m., Generald Wilson from Florissant, Missouri June 17, 6 p.m., 18th Street Singers from Ord, Neb. June 18, 1 p.m., Girls & Boys Town Choir June 18, 6 p.m., Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity from Louisiana State University June 19, 1 p.m., Tim Halperin, Jon Gates and Brian Dinkel from Omaha June 19, 6 p.m., Brian Corey, trumpet player from Omaha June 20, 1 p.m., Jodee Moomey from Omaha June 20, 6 p.m., Sarpy Serenaders Barbershop Chorus from Papillion, Neb. June 21, 1 p.m., Tyler Hughes from Omaha June 21, 6 p.m., Southwood Lutheran Men’s Quartet from Lincoln, Neb. June 22, 1 p.m., Richard Swanson, a saxophonist from Mead, Neb. June 22, 6 p.m., Suzy Andersen from Treynor, Iowa June 23, 1 p.m. (if needed), Natalie Thomas from Papillion, Neb. June 23, 6 p.m. (if needed), Brian and Eric Essen from Fremont, Neb. June 25, 6 p.m., Central High School Singers from Omaha June 26, 2 p.m., Heather Hottman from Omaha June 27, 6 p.m. (if needed), Heidi Joy from Omaha College World Series of Omaha, Inc. is a non-profit organization and the local organizing committee for the annual NCAA Division I Championship Baseball College World Series. This year’s event gets underway with Opening Ceremonies on June 16 and concludes June 26 or 27 with the final Championship game. |
