(OMAHA, Neb. – July 9, 2004) –Joshua Point, a senior at University of Nebraska at Omaha, has been chosen as the recipient of this year’s Ambassador Scholarship, announced Jack Diesing, Jr., president of College World Series of Omaha, Inc. The $2,000 scholarship is provided by Mutual of Omaha, sponsor of the College World Series Ambassador program.
Point was selected to be an Ambassador for the 2004 Men’s College World Series and enjoyed the program so much he decided to try out it again in 2005.
“My experience from last year helped me to be more relaxed and motivated this time around,” said Point. “Being an Ambassador is an extraordinary experience. The opportunities, the people, the NCAA, CWS Inc., the fans and players were all great. The experience was super fun and super exciting. I loved it.”
The Ambassador Scholarship is awarded annually to one of eight College World Series Ambassadors and is based on participation in NCAA Men’s College World Series activities and the individual’s overall attitude toward the Ambassador program, with input from service club representatives and CWS of Omaha staff.
Point will graduate from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in December 2005. He graduates with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and plans to continue his education and earn a Masters degree in Radiology.
