(OMAHA, NEB. May 2, 2006) – Reserved seat tickets for individual games of the NCAA Men’s College World Series, which starts June 16, will go on sale starting May 6, at 10 a.m. Central Daylight Time, according to Herb E. Hames, ticket chairman of College World Series of Omaha, Inc.
Tickets will be available at Rosenblatt Stadium and selected Midwest Ticketmaster outlets, which will use a lottery system to determine the buying order. Individuals may also charge tickets by phone at (402) 422-1212 or use Ticketmaster online at www.ticketmaster.com. A list of Ticketmaster outlets is available at Ticketmaster online. Individual game tickets for reserved seats cost $18 for regular sessions.
“We have about 1,000 advanced reserved tickets available for regular sessions on May 6, and we know from experience that they will sell very fast,” Hames said. “All Ticketmaster outlets will use a lottery system to determine purchase order. We recommend arriving about 9:15 a.m. to participate in the lottery, which will take place at approximately 9:30 a.m.”
Numbers will be handed out at random to ticket buyers at each Ticketmaster location before 9:30 a.m. on May 6. Once these have been distributed, a number will be drawn at 9:30 a.m. to determine the first person in line to buy College World Series tickets when sales officially open at 10 a.m. Buying order will then follow sequentially from the initial number drawn. Each reserved seat ticket buyer will be limited to a maximum of four regular sessions and up to six tickets per session.
Tickets for the championship series go on sale June 23, through the Rosenblatt box office as well as Ticketmaster nationwide (ticketmaster.com, Charge By Phone and selected outlets). Tickets purchased on the phone or on the Internet through Ticketmaster will be available for pick up at Rosenblatt's box office Will Call window. Championship Game tickets are $25 for reserve seats and $31 for box seats.
General admission tickets costing $60 per book of 10 tickets are now on sale through area service clubs, at all Hy-Vee supermarket customer service counters, the Omaha World-Herald, Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Rosenblatt Stadium and other locations throughout the metro area. Ticket books are also available via mail order by sending $60, plus $5 to cover shipping and handling for up to five books, to College World Series of Omaha, Inc., 5010 Dodge Street, Omaha, NE 68132. When ordering five or more books, shipping and handling is $10. Make checks payable to CWS. Ticket books are available for purchase online through www.CWSOmaha.com. Each book of 10 general admission tickets purchased online will cost $60, plus shipping charges, which will vary based on the shipment option selected.
While general admission tickets do not guarantee a seat, ticket holders who arrive early should find a seat open in the bleachers which have a capacity for nearly 5,400 fans. General admission tickets may be used for any game as long as the holder arrives early enough to be admitted, or may be upgraded to reserved seats at Rosenblatt Stadium’s box office the day of the game under the following guidelines:
