Omaha, NE – Some of the nation’s most successful collegiate men’s baseball coaches and student-athletes will be on hand when the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Youth Education through Sports (YES) Clinic Fueled by POWERade® will conduct two (2) FREE youth baseball clinics on Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16 at the Creighton University Sports Complex in conjunction with the 2007 NCAA Men’s College World Series. Through the YES Program, boys and girls, ages 10 to 16, are eligible to participate at no cost to youth. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis and registration forms and brochures can be found at www.YESclinics.org. Youth will be able to participate in skill instruction, life skills, and conditioning sessions with collegiate coaches and student-athletes. The specific skill sessions will be more instructional in format, and teach the “FUN” in fundamentals of sport and life. We are pleased to have The Coca-Cola Company and the POWERade brand’s support of the YES Program. This partnership will provide additional benefits to participants, parents and/or guardians, as well as coaches and student-athletes that donate their time. Each participant will receive a souvenir YES t-shirt, gift items from NCAA Corporate Partners/Champions, licensees and printed materials on baseball skill development, nutrition and academic topics. Participation in this clinic will also allow youth to experience the excitement of the NCAA Championship first-hand. A ticket voucher will be given to each participant for free admission to one of the championship games on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday following the YES Clinics. Parents and/or guardians will also have the opportunity to actively participate in the YES Clinic by attending a “Parent’s Session” specifically designed for them. In this session a panel of experts will discuss issues relating to youth sports, nutrition, sportsmanship, recruiting, compliance, injury prevention and other related topics. The NCAA YES Program is exclusively administered by the National Youth Sports Corporation (NYSC). For more information, or to receive a clinic application, please contact Jason Shockey, Assistant Men’s Baseball Coach, Creighton University at phone: 402/280-2628 or email: jasonshockey@creighton.edu. |
