| MAT Shuttle Service Offers Fans Alternative to Parking Hassles |
|
(OMAHA, Neb. May 14, 2007) - NCAA® Men's College World Series® fans looking to avoid the traffic congestion and the limited parking around Rosenblatt Stadium can hitch a ride from one of six convenient Metro Area Transit (MAT) park-and-ride locations that include routes from West Omaha, downtown Omaha and Council Bluffs. Last year, nearly 15,000 NCAA® Men's College World Series® fans took the MAT shuttle to and from the games. With nearly 22,000 people expected to attend each game this year, the MAT shuttle beats the alternative of traffic jams and parking hassles. Buses arrive at the stadium from each of the six locations approximately 30 minutes before game time and leave the stadium 30 minutes after each game ends. The six park-and-ride locations and departure times are listed in Table 1.
The shuttle fare is $3 per person each way. Exact fare will be required. All buses are Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible. Call 341-0800 (voice) or 341-0807 (TDD) or visit www.metroareatransit.com for specific information on park-and-ride locations and departure times. The MAT Shuttle will not operate for the Opening Ceremonies on June 15. During the NCAA® Men's College World Series®, Rosenblatt Stadium parking is available to season ticket holders only. A $10 parking fee will be charged for entry to designated lots. All season ticket holder lots are available on a first come, first served basis. Season ticket holders must display their parking permit to gain access to stadium parking Lot A and Lot 5. The $10 fee will be collected upon entry and correct change is requested. Persons leaving and returning the same day will need to pay an additional $10 upon re-entry. For additional information on suggested traffic routes and parking, as well as an enlarged view of Rosenblatt Stadium, refer to the Omaha Police Department Web site: www.opd.ci.omaha.ne.us.
