This internship offers the full-time college student the opportunity to work behind the scenes at the NCAA’s second largest championship. Spring InternshipsMeeting & Event Design, Inc., the event manager for College World Series of Omaha, Inc., offers two non-paid internships each year for the Men’s College World Series. These internships offer the full-time college student the opportunity to work behind the scenes at the NCAA’s second largest championship. Assignments may include coordination of specific events and volunteers, general office duties (such as ordering products and services, taking inventory and invoicing, and answering the CWS Hotline), and assisting the CWS of Omaha staff both in the office and on-site during the event. While we would prefer applicants who need a full semester internship to complete their studies in a sports-related major, we will consider students from other majors and those who are taking classes during the spring semester, provided that they can work enough hours to complete all the tasks that are assigned. This should be an officially-recognized internship through the student’s college or university and must have some sort of evaluation process through an advisor at the school. Deadline for Spring 2009 internships is extended until October 17. 2008 Summer InternshipsMeeting & Event Design also offers summer internships. Beginning in mid-May and running through the first week of August, these interns will assist with pre-event coordination, work on-site at the event and assist with all event follow-up and reports. This is also a non-paid internship. Deadline for Summer 2009 internships is January 30, 2009. Event InternshipsThese interns are specifically selected to assist just prior to and on-site during the Men's College World Series. Event interns will assist with player gift assembly, as well as events on-site at Rosenblatt Stadium. These events and assignments would include: working in the NCAA office, box office, Fan Fest area, VIP Club, etc. It would also include assisting with the Opening Ceremonies and Autograph Session. These are non-paid positions. Deadline for 2009 Event Internships is February 13, 2009.
