Most Outstanding Player Award |
Beginning in the fifth inning of the championship game,
ballots are
distributed to attending media representatives for selection of the Most
Outstanding Player. Balloting is closed by the eighth inning. The MOP,
as well as the all-tournament team, is announced following the awarding
of trophies to the runner-up and championship teams.
This
honor recognized Mr. Diesing, Sr.’s nearly four decades of
leadership
of College World Series of Omaha, Inc. Players earning the award
receive a miniature replica of “The Road to Omaha”
sculpture at
Rosenblatt Stadium. YEAR
