College World Series of Omaha, Inc., and the NCAA will once again provide a fun-filled baseball experience for fans of all ages at the new CWS Sandlot location near 67th and Mercy Road in Aksarben Village.

The CWS Sandlot will open this Friday, June 3, just north of Stinson Park. The field is 90 feet to the left and right field foul poles with 45-foot base paths and will feature plastic bats and balls. The Sandlot will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily through Tuesday, June 14, and youth and corporate events will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Field times can be reserved by emailing

The Sandlot is free and open to the public. The public can check the schedule and CWS Sandlot rules by visiting or following the action on Twitter and Instagram at #CWSSandlot.

“The CWS Sandlot concept of child’s play and the pure joy of baseball is growing in popularity and led to an expanded schedule from four days in its first year to this year’s 12-day run,” said Dan Morrissey of CWS Omaha Inc. “It’s also a fun and unique way of celebrating the CWS with our community by making any neighborhood a place to play baseball.”

Plastic bats and balls are provided. No outside bats, balls or other equipment will be allowed in the CWS Sandlot. Security will be present on site to ensure The Sandlot is a safe, fun, family-oriented experience.
