CWS, Inc., Announces Application Period for 2016-17 Grants

College World Series of Omaha, Inc., has announced the dates for 2016-17 Grant Applications. CWS, Inc., the local non-profit organizing committee that hosts the NCAA® Men's College World Series®, annually provides financial donations to area youth sports organizations. The application process opens on Monday, August 1, 2016 and will be received until Monday, October 3, 2016. Since 1973, CWS, Inc., has donated nearly $4 million to area baseball and softball organizations.

Beckwith Earns CWS Diesing Award

Coastal Carolina pitcher, Andrew Beckwith, was named the John D. Diesing, Sr., Most Outstanding Player for the 2016 College World Series. Beckwith, the junior right-hander, earned three wins during the CWS to help lead the Chanticleers their first national championship.

Coastal Carolina - 2016 CWS Champions

Coastal Carolina won the decisive CWS Finals Game 3, 4-3, over Arizona to claim its first national championship in any sport. The Chanticleers became the first team since Minnesota in 1956 to win the title in their first CWS appearance. For a complete recap, click here.
