Media Credentials

Recognized media outlets covering the College World Series need to obtain press credentials.

All credentials request must be submitted on-line at

http://www.ncaa.com/baseball

THIS IS ONLY FOR MEDIA OUTLETS THAT WILL COVER THE CWS REGARDLESS WHICH TEAMS ADVANCE TO OMAHA

The procedure will allow will again allow the same features from last year – uploading of your photo and requesting a hotel. This will allow for your credential to be pre-made and ready for pick-up starting Friday, June 13, and allows individuals to make hotel reservations.

The NCAA has strict standards to qualify for media credentials at all NCAA championships, including the College World Series. With limited press box seating, granting of a credential does not guarantee a press box seat. Credentials WILL NOT be available for pickup at Rosenblatt Stadium at any time during the series.

Your credentials, if approved, will be available in the Council Bluffs Room at the Embassy Suites Old Market. Please note the new hotel that will serve as the NCAA Headquarters in 2008. Credentials will be available in the Council Bluffs Room at the following times:

Friday, June 13— 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Saturday, June 14— 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Sunday, June 15— 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Monday, June 16— 9 a.m.-noon
Tuesday, June 17— 9 a.m.-noon
Wednesday, June 18— 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Thursday, June 19— 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Friday, June 20— 9 a.m.-noon
Saturday, June 21— 9 a.m.-noon/or 2 p.m.-5 p.m. (if only one game is played)
Sunday, June 22— 9 a.m.-noon
Monday, June 23— 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Tuesday, June 24— 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Wednesday, June 25— 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Everybody must pick up their own credential, no group pick-ups. A photo ID will be required for verification.

This will serve as the main media headquarters for the CWS. Media must be prepared to provide a credit card number to reserve the room. Rates at the Sleep Inn are $89 per night plus tax.

A small group of rooms are also available at the Courtyard by Marriott at 101 S. 10th St. for $169 per night plus tax. THE NCAA MEDIA COORDINATION STAFF WILL DO OUR BEST TO ACCOMMODATE YOUR HOTEL CHOICE AND ROOM TYPE, BUT CANNOT MAKE A GUARANTEE DUE TO THE LIMITED OPTIONS. Rooms are not available until June 12.

No transportation is provided from the Sleep Inn or Courtyard by Marriott to Rosenblatt. Press parking is located in Lot 4. Media coordinator J.D. Hamilton has a limited number of reserved parking passes available and will issue them based on the total media contingent from each outlet. THERE IS NOT ENOUGH RESERVED PARKING FOR ALL MEDIA OUTLETS TO HAVE MULTIPLE PASSES.

 These requests should be made through the same site starting June 7, when the first team could clinch a berth in the MCWS. At this time an individual will click the institution that he or she is covering in a drop-down box and will then proceed with the process of requesting credentials. More information will be sent to your attention once all 64-teams are selected for the 2008 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship.

Terms and Conditions For Use of Credentials


General:
This working credential is issued for the sole purpose of providing facility access to an accredited media entity’s employee or designated representative who has a legitimate working function (media or game service) in connection with this championship.  It is nontransferable.  The person receiving this credential (“Credential Holder”) and the entity which the credential holder is representing (“Credential Entity”) are subject to the terms of this credential. The National Collegiate Athletic Association (“NCAA”) and its designated championship host personnel reserve the right to all remedies against Credential Holder and Credential Entity, for unauthorized use of this credential, including   ejection from the facility and prosecution for criminal trespass. 

All media entities observing NCAA championship competition should recognize that any still picture, motion picture, audio, film/videotape/digital capture or drawing (collectively, Representations)  may be used only in connection with news/sports coverage within a 72-hour period following the Competition for which credential has been issued (“Competition”) and the Representations portion of each such showing will not exceed three (3) minutes in length; All Internet  media entities and new media entities (e.g., companies providing content for mobile and PDAs) observing NCAA championship competition recognize that Representations may be used only in connection with news/sports coverage within a 24-hour period following the Competition, and the Representations portion of each showing will not exceed three (3) minutes in length.

Any secondary use of any Representations obtained under use of this credential of the Competition made by the Credential Holder or Credential Entity (including but not limited to use in delayed editorial or non-editorial, advertising, sales promotion or merchandising) is prohibited without prior specific written approval of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

NCAA Blogging Policy
Each credential holder (including television, Internet, new media, and print publications) has the privilege to blog (e.g., real-time or time delayed journal entries) during competition if approved for a credential. Any blog representing an NCAA championship must submit the appropriate link to NCAA.com Blog Central.  To submit your link, please send an e-mail to blogs@ncaa.com with the subject of Baseball Blog Submission.  In return, all media entities entering a blog must post the NCAA.com logo/link on the page hosting their blog as a reciprocal link. All blogs must be free of charge to readers and must adhere to the conditions and limitations of this NCAA Blogging Policy.

A blog description includes in-competition updates on score and time remaining in competition as well as a description of the championship and competition taking place during the given time that the competition is in progress. The NCAA and its designated championship personnel shall be the final authority over whether a credential holder or credential entity is following the NCAA Blogging Policy.

The following is the NCAA’s policy for the number of blog posts allowed during the Division I Baseball Championship competition or session (i.e., where more than one contest takes place under the same admission ticket): one blog post every half-inning (includes extra innings).

All Credential Holders and Credential Entities are prohibited from providing Representations to any other person or entity in any media form without advance written permission from the NCAA, even though the planned use may be editorial in nature.  Such Representations may be publicly displayed only by the Credential Entity and only for editorial purposes.  These rights may not be assigned, transferred or otherwise disposed to any person, subsidiary, parent, or any other entity.  Any agency wishing to use Representations of NCAA competition in any manner must obtain written permission for such usage from the NCAA.

The Credential Holder and Credential Entity agree to indemnify the NCAA, its officers, agents, employees, and each of its member institutions, the officers, agents and employees, of and from all claims, demand and causes of action arising out of anything done or purported to have been done by any media entity its agents or assigns.

The Credential Holder and Credential Entity further agrees to release the NCAA and all championship host personnel, including but not limited to persons,  and educational institutions involved in management or production of the competition, from any claim or liability arising from failure to provide space for transmitting Representations, or other facilities for the media entities.
