College World Series of Omaha Inc. Announces Sale
Of General Admission Tickets Starting April 14

Advanced Single Qualifying Game Reserved Seat Tickets Available April 19

(OMAHA, Neb. – April 11, 2008) – Distribution of general admission ticket books for the 2008 NCAA® Men’s College World Series® will begin in the metropolitan Omaha area April 14, while the advance sale of single qualifying game reserved seat tickets will be on April 19, according to Herb Hames, ticket chairman of the College World Series of Omaha Inc.

Books of 10 general admission tickets will be available for $70 at area service clubs, at Hy-Vee customer service counters, the Qwest Center, Rosenblatt Stadium and other Omaha locations. Tickets are also available at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs and Hy-Vee stores in Lincoln. A complete list of service clubs and merchant outlets is available at CWSOmaha.com.

“An allotment of 2,000 general admission ticket books will be available for purchase online through www.CWSOmaha.com beginning Saturday, April 19,” Hames said. Each book purchased online will cost $70, plus shipping charges, which will vary based on the shipment option selected. “Online ticket sales are provided for the convenience of our out-of-town fans who do not have the option of buying tickets through participating businesses and volunteers in the greater Omaha area,” Hames said.  “General admission tickets are not designated for a specific game or date and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.”

General admission tickets do not guarantee admission to a game. With stadium gates opening two hours prior to games, general admission ticket holders are encouraged to arrive early enough to be seated. General admission tickets are good for all games, including the best two-out-of-three finals. The approximate capacity is 5,400 for the aluminum, bench-style seats with seat backs.

A limited number of Men’s College World Series general admission ticket books will be available by phone through Rosenblatt Stadium [(402)738-5114 and ask for James], from the Qwest Center [(402) 341-1500, ask for general admission College World Series ticket sales] and Mid-America Center [(712) 326-2260, ask for Joe V.].

General admission ticket books are also available via mail order by sending $70 per book, plus $5 to cover shipping and handling for orders of less than five books, to College World Series of Omaha Inc., 5010 Dodge Street, Omaha, NE 68132. When ordering five or more books, shipping and handling is $10. Make checks payable to CWS.

Nearly 1,300 single qualifying game reserved seat tickets will be available on April 19 at Rosenblatt Stadium and selected Midwest Ticketmaster outlets, as well as by phone at 402-422-1212 and online at www.ticketmaster.com. Ticket prices for the 2008 Series are as follows:
    •    $10 each for single general admission tickets purchased at the Rosenblatt Stadium box           office.
    •    $70 each for a book of 10 general admission tickets.
    •    $19 each for a qualifying game reserved seat ticket and $24 for a box seat to individual               qualifying games.
    •    $26 each for a reserved seat ticket and $32 for a box seat ticket for the best                        two-out-of-three finals games.

Tickets for the finals games will not be available until it is known what teams will be playing.  Once the teams are determined, there are four ways to purchase tickets for Finals Game 1 and Finals Game 2. Ticketmaster.com will begin selling tickets 30 minutes after the last deciding game on either June 20 or June 21 and Rosenblatt’s box office will open at noon on June 22. Tickets will also be available to purchase through Ticketmaster retail locations or charge by phone. If a Finals Game 3 is needed to determine the national champion, tickets will be available to purchase through Ticketmaster.com approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of Finals Game 2. Rosenblatt’s box office will open at noon on June 25 to sell tickets and tickets will also be available to purchase through Ticketmaster retail locations or charge by phone.

The 2008 Men’s College World Series will see the elimination of single session doubleheader games, resulting in two more games with the price of a season ticket. This is the first year every game has its own ticket. Starting times for each game will be 1 and 6 p.m. on days when two games are played, and 6 p.m. on days when a single game is played, including all Finals games. All game times are subject to change. In the event that two ‘if necessary’ games are required on Saturday, June 21, those games will also be separate tickets.

College World Series of Omaha Inc. is a non-profit organization and the local organizing committee for the annual NCAA Division I Men’s College World Series. The 2008 Men’s College World Series will start on Saturday, June 14, with the first game of the Series Finals beginning on Monday, June 23. This year’s schedule has the Series concluding on Tuesday, June 24, or Wednesday, June 25.
