Hamilton MCWS Media Coordinator 317/917-6124 ***MEDIA ADVISORY*** “STATE OF BASEBALL” PRESS CONFERENCE FRIDAY, JUNE 13, 2008 OMAHA---The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), NCAA Division I Baseball Committee and the Baseball Academic Enhancement Working Group, will hold a “State of Baseball” press conference in conjunction with the 2008 Men’s College World Series. The press conference will take place on Friday, June 13, at 1 p.m. (central time) in the Hall of Fame Room at Rosenblatt Stadium. The panel will consist of the following participants: Larry Templeton, Director of Athletics at Mississippi State University, and chair of the Division I Baseball Committee; Dennis Poppe, NCAA Vice President for Football and Baseball; Kevin Lennon, NCAA Vice President for Membership Services; Todd Petr, NCAA Managing Director of Research; Dave Keilitz, ABCA Executive Director. The press conference topics will include the new stadium and Omaha contract, college baseball academic reform, and other issues dealing with the sport. -30- |
