Millions of dollars in stadium improvements have made the "Blatt" loved by coaches, players and fans alike.
2006 General Renovation
- Installed dugout protective screening; replaced artificial surfaces in the bull pens; added water station in general admission area; replaced old scoreboard above first base line with one that uses light emitting diodes (LED) technology
2006 New Video Board
- The 1,550 square foot video system measures 27 feet 7 inches high by 56 feet 6 inches wide. The size of the video board will allow for the display to be split-screened to show multiple windows of information and statistics, along with live and recorded streaming video.
2004 Sound System & General Renovation
- New stadium sound system replaces 10-year-old system. Other enhancements included a new trash collection area, new carpeting for the Stadium View Club, improvements to lighting for the playing field and an expansion of the fan interactive activities area in front of the stadium
2003 Water Station & General Renovation
- Concourse water station was installed, along with enhancements to the NCAA office and umpire room remodeling.
2001-2002
- $7.3 million in improvements, including replacing old seats with new seats and rebuilding the general admission bleachers. The new bleachers are aluminum with seat backs.
- A 5,300- square-foot patio area where people can congregate.
- New concession areas, modern indoor rest rooms, easy access to seating.
- An elevated walkway to the right field reserved seating grandstand area.
2000
- Construction of a 64-stall RV parking lot north of the stadium, complete with electrical hookups and other facilities for recreational vehicles.
1999
- Renovation of stadium entrance, including new plaza, concession and ticket areas. Focal point is the commemorative “Road to Omaha” statue commissioned by CWS of Omaha, Inc.
1998
- Renovation of public restrooms along 3rd base line side of stadium.
- New offices for in-house concessionaire and refurbished clubhouse areas behind both dugouts.
1997
- Renovation of public restrooms along 1st base line side of stadium.
1996
- Completion of new press box allowing the auxiliary press box to be replaced with 200 additional seats for fans.
- State-of-the-art press facility added, including 90 seats overlooking the field, 12-15 broadcast booths, a work room for 25-40 reporters and a dining area for up to 125 people.
1995
- Added 1,680 permanent reserved seats, restrooms and concession stands down the right field line. Also, added an NCAA drug testing/multipurpose room.
1994
- 13th Street Parking 482 parking stalls added in the northwest corner of the stadium's property at 13th St. and Deer Park Boulevard for fans.
- 500 new bleacher seats were added at rightoutfield corner.
1993
- 3,216 additional reserved seats were added, with restrooms and concession stands, along the left field line.
- A new NCAA conference room and an umpire room were added.
- 200 parking stalls added along 13th Street for officials and organizers of the Series.
- Constructed on the stadium's west side, the Media Plaza is equipped with direct power hook-ups for TV stations’ trucks with satellite dishes. Also includes an expanded area for crews from ESPN.
